“Reason this person is a Gold Ribbon Hero: I would like to nominate my son and share his story. Gavin started having headaches in August of 2015 and was diagnosed on August 30th with a brain tumor at the age of 7. He has Medulloblastoma. He underwent brain surgery to remove the tumor along with two other procedures and is now at St. Jude Children’sResearch Hospital. He went through 6 weeks of radiation in which he was sedated each time and just started round 3 of his 7 round chemo protocol this week. Gavin recently celebrated his 8th Birthday!! No matter what comes his way he gets through it and always with a smile. He recently told us and his doctor that he wanted to someday work at St Jude so that he could help all of the children. He is the sweetest, bravest kid I know and is forever MY HERO!! Thank you!!”
