“Brendan has organized Surfing 4 a Cure for the past 3 years raising over $45,000 to date towards Research at CHLA. Surfing 4 a Cure is a surf relay similar to a relay walk, where each surfer must raise money to participate. Followed by an after party with a raffle and auction to add to the funds raised. Brendan started a foundation (Everlasting Smiles Foundation) in 2010 and merged with The Young and Brave in 2013. Through his foundations, he has organized Thanksgiving dinners and Hawaiian themed dinners for families and patients at Mattel Children’s Hospital, and gave baskets with gift cards and much needed items to patients and families at CHLA and Mattel. Brendan began all his work after meeting several children through a Children’s Hospice event he attended. Along with his family, they organized a fundraiser for Trinity Kids Care in LA, which prompted him to start Everlasting Smiles Foundation. Surfing 4 a Cure has been featured on Torrance News and in Drop Zone LA Magazine, and can be followed on FaceBook.” – Katie C
