The story detailed below is an account written by Meg, an Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Type B survivor! Meg currently operates an ACCO Founding Hope fund called Meg’s Giveback and is a senior in high school.
I had bleeding gums, unexplained bruising and was really tired. I was diagnosed with ALL type B on December 23, 2015. I started chemotherapy and had many obstacles while undergoing treatment. As a result of my treatment, I had a blood clot in my picc line, fungal meningitis infection in my brain, pancreatitis, steroid induced diabetes, appendicitis, gallbladder attack and I lost my hair three times.
I’ve always looked up to ACCO and have been very aware of their mission. I am honored to work alongside them now while doing Meg’s Giveback!
I’m a senior and graduate on June 2, 2021! I run Meg’s Giveback, babysit and hang out with my friends. I spend a lot of time on social media and sharing my story.
